2 cups gluten-free all purpose flour we used GF Jules- affiliate link
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
Savory adds
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or cheese of choice — we used sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup green onions sliced thin (about 1 bunch) (you could try chives or bacon)
Instructions
Preheat oven 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, blend all ingredients for the basic biscuit until well combined (I use a stand mixer to do this).
Add in cheese and scallions and mix to combine.
Scoop 6 large spoonfuls batter onto baking sheet gently forming a biscuit shape as need.
Bake 20 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. If at 20 minutes, tops are crisp but you want to cook the center an extra few minutes, gently cover with foil and bake additional 5 minutes.
