Chocolate Orange Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 small frozen bananas 
  • 1 cup almond milk (can use any non-dairy milk)
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice 
  • 1 tsp orange zest 
  • 1/4 cup nut butter of choice (I used peanut butter)
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt 
  • chocolate granola and orange slice for garnish (optional but highly recommended!)

Instructions:

  1. If you prefer your smoothies to be thicker, add another frozen banana or use LESS liquid (start with 1/2 cup of almond milk)
  2. If you want the smoothie to be more thin, add more liquid.
  3. Add all of the ingredients listed above into a high powered blender and blend until your desired consistency is reached. *See notes about serving size!
  4. Taste and adjust if needed – if you need it sweeter, add a splash of honey or maple syrup. More chocolatey? Add more cocoa powder. More tart? Add more orange.
  5. Top with granola and a fresh orange slice and enjoy!
